Meet Our Day Camp Team: Brooke Grauf
Brooke Grauf, one of the Sage YMCA’s Day Camp Counselors, is from Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and currently attends Illinois State University studying Special Education. This summer at the Y, Brooke is excited to have fun and learn from the kids.
Q: Why did you choose to become a Counselor for the Y?
A: To get more experience in the field, especially as a one-on-one aide.
Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does?
A: The employee community; community is so important in childcare.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: I played and volunteer coached lacrosse throughout high school and college.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)?
A: Telekinesis, because it is powerful and can help people.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: To see the northern lights.

A: I am excited to participate in the community this summer and become an active member in the area.
