YMCA Partners with Chicago CityKey to Unlock Opportunities for All Chicagoans
The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is excited to share that we are now a partner of the Chicago CityKey program — an initiative that empowers all Chicago residents to “unlock” the city’s great resources and opportunities!
Originating from the findings of a 2015 task force, CityKey was initially created to serve as a Chicago Municipal ID, which would function as government-issued identification for City of Chicago residents. While originally created to reduce barriers to government-issued IDs, the program has expanded to make the city’s amazing offerings more accessible to residents, including access to CTA, the Chicago Public Library, and Rx prescription discount cards.
CityKey ID holders can access benefits and discounts to various Chicago-based businesses and organizations, from restaurants to museums to financial institutions, and more! And the YMCA of Metro Chicago is proud to be a part of this group, facilitating connections between our community members and the city they call home.
As a CityKey partner, the YMCA of Metro Chicago offers one free month at one of our Chicago Community Hubs to CityKey cardholders. When presented with a CityKey ID, Y staff will provide individuals with a one-month Play Pass at the following Community Hubs: the Irving Park YMCA, Kelly Hall YMCA, Lake View YMCA, McCormick YMCA, Rauner Family YMCA, and South Side YMCA.
There are no pre-qualifications, and every Chicagoan is eligible for a CityKey regardless of age, insurance, income, health, or immigration status. By partnering with CityKey, the Y provides a meaningful resource for our neighbors to thrive while advancing our commitment to inclusive health and wellbeing for all as a trusted civic partner.
