Launching Our 2024-25 Foglia YMCA Renovations!

The Foglia YMCA is excited to announce that we have launched a series of renovations, starting in fall of 2024, to enhance our community’s day-to-day experience — based on community and member feedback! 

These updates are a part of a multi-year plan to enhance the Foglia YMCA Community Hub experience for all ages. Recent renovations ensured the safety of our community and included projects such as resurfacing the parking lot, pool filtration and automation, new concrete entrance, upgraded security infrastructure, and more.  

The Foglia Y extends a huge thank you to the Foglia Family Foundation, whose support makes it possible for us to further invest in our space. This fall, we broke ground on exterior renovations (see a photo above!) and a new ADA-accessible playground. As we look ahead to the winter months and new year, we anticipate a lobby renovation, which will include the relocation of the membership desk to the lobby. We will also incorporate new fitness floor equipment and lighting! 

Plus, we’ll be using the momentum built from the Foglia Family Foundation’s generous donation to continue exploring additional long-term renovation plans — including the expansion of our fitness studio to create a “Peloton Zone” for individual and group Peloton classes. 

We extend additional thanks to Illinois State Representative Nabeela Syed and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, who are helping us access $200,000 of funding that will contribute to capital improvements. 

This might sound like a lot of change (because it is!), but rest assured, we’re working hard to keep disruptions to a minimum, and it’s all for the benefit of the Foglia Y community! By building a safer and more welcoming environment, we foster a stronger sense of belonging and encouragement.
