Kate Hahn, Fitness Director, Indian Boundary YMCA, leads our team to success, ensuring that we’re up-to-date with our community’s needs and fitness trends. She’s always looking to add new formats to help our members take the next step in their wellness journeys. This fall, we’re excited to introduce a balance class, HIIT class, and paid treadmill walking class using Myzone technology.
Plus, at the Indian Boundary Y, we design our fitness programs to be multi-level, led by instructors who are skilled at modifying classes to ensure everyone can participate, no matter their age or skill level. Kate credits our instructors for keeping members engaged through fun and personalized classes. We meet you where you are, so you can meet your goals.
Kate believes flexibility is a key component of fitness that’s often overlooked in favor of strength or weight loss, in addition to dedication and patience. She often reminds those starting their fitness journey that it’s a process — missing workouts is okay, as long as you keep coming back.
According to Kate, her typical day starts with a walk-through of the Indian Boundary Y fitness areas to ensure everything is clean and ready for members. She teaches or takes a class most mornings to connect with members. She also spends time on administrative tasks and meetings, often returning in the evening to teach.
Kate is leading the curve in innovative classes and partnerships! She’s proud to be one of the first instructors in the world to teach Les Mills Thrive to an in-person class. The Indian Boundary Y, as a whole, is also thrilled to be partnering with Les Mills to bring Thrive to the area, a program designed to help those with hip osteoarthritis.
