Meet Our Day Camp Team: Xadrian Wilkins

Xadrian Wilkins was born and raised in Chicago and attended Schurz High School. After graduating, Wilkins attended MacMurray College. His passions include flag football, and he is an All Tournament Team Winner at the 2023 NFL FLAG Championships at Pro Bowl Games! Wilkins has been working at the Y since the summer of 2015, where he actually started as a Day Camp counselor at the Irving Park Y.

Q: What is your favorite part of working at the YMCA? 

A: My favorite part about working at the Y is seeing all children grow up and come back to the Y to work. Since being a counselor, I have hired three past campers to work at Day Camps.

Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does? 

A: I love that the Y tries to [help] its community and make sure we are offering something for all families and youth.

Q: What is your favorite part about Day Camp at the Y? 

A: Soaking up the summer fun with various activities, games, water week, tie-dye, field trips, and, most importantly, making memories that will last a lifetime!

Q: What is your favorite memory from Day Camp at the Y?

A: My favorite memory would have to be when we had an all Camp Olympics where each group got to represent themselves, and we had a field day of fun with various activities.

Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far? 

A: I am most proud of being able to serve the community and being able to provide a safe but fun environment for all youth to come and feel like they belong.

Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out? 

A: For self-care, I enjoy playing Hogwarts legacy. 

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)? 

A: I would choose to have the ability to shapeshift (like Ant Man)!

A: Michael Jakcson’s Will You Be There

Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list? 

A: One thing on my bucket list is to meet Lebron James.
