YMCA Camp Independence is located at 32405 N. US Highway 12, Ingleside, IL 60041 – In northern Illinois, one hour north of Chicago, one hour south of Milwaukee, and 30 minutes west of Gurnee.

 Camp Independence’s main lodge office is typically open:

  • Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Please note that summer is a very busy season and we may not be in the office at all times.

YMCA Camp Independence is located on the lovely Fish Lake and spans 350 acres of rich woodlands, open fields, rolling hills, and nature trails. Our building was designed for helping campers with spina bifida gain independence and features an accessible kitchen and bathrooms. 

We offer campers a range of adventurous and relaxing activities, including an arts and crafts area, high and low ropes courses, sports fields, archery range, a floor hockey space, and an accessible lakefront area.
