Meet Our Day Camp Team: Renee Tuzak
Renee Tuzak, one of the Elmhurst YMCA’s Day Camp Counselors, grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois, and graduated from York Community High School! Renee works at the Elmhurst District 205 Transition Center as a Paraprofessional and School Related Personnel.
This summer, Renee is excited about meeting new people and forming new connections.
Q: Why did you choose to become a Counselor for the Y?
A: To make the most of my summer and use the skills from my job as a teacher’s aid to help kids and be a positive influence.
Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does?
A: It is inclusive.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: I love going to the zoo. My favorite animal is the meerkat.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)?
A: Teleportation, because I don’t like car rides.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: “Simply the Best” by Tina Turner.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: [Go on] an African safari.

A: I have a dog named Lady, and my wife is named Amanda.
