Living The Cause: Lena

Last week, Lena, a lifeguard at the Indian Boundary YMCA, quickly recognized a Y member in distress in the deep end of the pool. Without pause, she activated the emergency action plan, and her teammates promptly responded. Lena entered the water for a successful rescue.

A little about Lena: 
“I am 17 years old and have grown up living in the water and being active. I swam for the Hinsdale hornets swim club when I was younger and play water polo now for Downers Grove South. I have played softball for 13 years and am in a branch of the Air Force called the Civil Air Patrol.”
