Irving Park YMCA Selected for Open House Chicago 2024
The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is excited to share that the Irving Park YMCA has been selected as a 2024 Open House Chicago (OHC) site!
The Irving Park Y, located in Old Irving Park, has served Chicago’s northwest side since 1925. That’s 99 years of service and play — empowering our neighbors as we build a stronger, healthier Chicagoland!
Our Community Hub is one of two remaining YMCAs that offers housing to male members of the community. Along with housing services, the Irving Park Y has a robust fitness facility complete with a pool, two gymnasiums, dance studio, childcare center, Tech Hub, and outdoor turf space.
Plus, it’s the home of the Bear’s Den — a treasure trove of Bears memorabilia and a step back in time with its vintage appearance. The Bear’s Den honors the legacy of the Chicago Bears football team and its connection with the Irving Park Y! Learn more about the history of the Bear’s Den through our blog post.
With a blend of rich history, programming that serves all ages, and an eye on the future, this YMCA serves as an anchor for the Irving Park Y community. During OHC, we’ll be offering visitors a full facility tour, with a look into all of the ways that we’ve served our community and how you can get involved. Join us on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
