ComEd CONSTRUCT Infrastructure Youth Academy 2023

Calling all Chicago-area rising high school juniors and seniors!

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is partnering with ComEd to launch the 2023 ComEd CONSTRUCT Infrastructure Youth Academy this summer!

We know, we know. “Academy” sounds like school. But we promise it’s much more than that, so keep reading.

For 10 days this summer, from July 10 to 27, up to 20 young people will learn the ins and outs of trade careers in the energy sector. Not only will the program increase your knowledge, awareness, and capabilities, you’ll also have opportunities to apply for and be part of ComEd adult programming and/or entry-level careers.

Still not convinced? What if we told you that it takes place at the South Side YMCA; it’s half-day sessions with other motivated young people; and it’s literally jumpstarting your future career prospects, i.e., get a jumpstart on your future and receive opportunities to apply for and be part of the ComEd adult programming and/or entry-level careers!

As if that wasn’t enough, here are three more reasons to apply:

1. The program is free – no fees to apply or participate!
2. There will be a really fun graduation ceremony and celebration at the conclusion of the program (where you’ll for sure fill your family photo quota for the year). AND…
3. Upon successful completion of the ComEd Infrastructure Youth Academy, participants receive a $350 stipend!
