Associate Board welcomes four new members to further the Y’s mission

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago’s Associate Board brings together emerging professionals across a diverse array of industries to serve as ambassadors for our mission to strengthen children, families, and communities.

Last month, we welcomed four outstanding leaders—each with their own unique connections to the Y—to our Associate Board family.

We invite you to read their stories:

Evan Dentley

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Evan Dentley is passionate about youth development. Dently, an alum of Chicago State University who studied the Y’s social impact as part of his coursework, has traveled across the country, creating and implementing youth development programming for diverse communities.

Scott Dunsire Jr.

Scott Dunshire Jr., from Naperville, IL, is a lifelong athlete. Having played golf throughout high school, as an undergraduate at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business, and as a Masters in Business Administration student at Northern Illinois University, he’s no stranger to the positive impact of discipline and teamwork. Dunshire has since applied the skills he’s learned throughout his years on the course to his career in IT sales, with experience working for companies like Synnex Corporation in South Caroline and ACP CreativIT here in Chicagoland. Dunshire looks forward to bringing the lessons he’s learned in sports and on the job to his local community as a member of the Associate Board.

Sean Granley

Sean Granley was born in Western Canada and raised in the Toronto area. Granley was a member and employee of a YMCA in the Toronto area and experienced firsthand the positive impact the YMCA has on the local community. He studied actuarial science at the University of Western Ontario and joined Mercer’s Toronto office, lending his skills and leadership to the global health, wealth, and career consulting firm in 2014 following graduation. Now living in Chicago, Sean is eager to lend his support to YMCA initiatives in the Chicagoland area.

Jasmine Williams

Jasmine Williams is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. The Partnership is an umbrella organization operating the public workforce system in the City of Chicago and Cook County, combining federal and philanthropic resources to broaden the reach and impact of workforce development services through innovative projects and customized business services. Prior to her role at The Partnership, Williams worked in a variety of roles in the nonprofit sector to increase education, access to employment, and resource development in low-income communities. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management and Psychology from Lewis University, a Master of Health Science in Addiction Studies from Governors State University, and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration at Loyola University Chicago. Williams provides support to several early-stage nonprofits through grant search services, program design, and fund development consultation alongside volunteering with several community organizations.
